THE SALMON RIVER MOTEL is located at the south city limits of Riggins and offers 1, 2 and 3 bed units. Situated at 1,800 feet, Riggins lies deep in a canyon at the confluence of the Salmon River and the Little Salmon River. Thousands of salmon and steelhead travel up these rivers on their yearly trip to their spawning grounds. Four miles south of Riggins along the Little Salmon River enters Rapid River where the Rapid River salmon hatchery is located. This hatchery provides millions of salmon each year to maintain an ocean going run of Chinook salmon.

Besides truly outstanding fishing, Riggins offers access to hunters, hikers and sightseer tourists. To the west is Hell's Canyon, the deepest gorge in North America and towering above the powerful Snake River in Hell's Canyon and the Salmon River canyon stand the Seven Devils mountains. These mountains are covered with evergreen pine, spruce, fir and tamarack forests. High mountain clear blue lakes are located throughout the area.
